Editorial policy

This page describes, in plain terms, what comicexpo.net publishes and how errors in that material can be reported.

What this site publishes

comicexpo.net publishes news and explainers; it is not a primary source. News items summarise developments that have been reported or announced elsewhere. Explainers set out how something works in general terms, for readers who want an overview rather than a legal text.

Because this site is not a primary source, nothing here should be treated as the authoritative text of a rule, a licence condition, an operator’s terms, or an official statement. Where a subject matters to a decision you are about to make, the underlying document or the body that issued it is the thing to read.

Dates and the position described

Gambling rules change often, and an article describes the position at the time it was written. A piece that was accurate when published can fall out of step with the current position without anything on this site changing. Readers should therefore treat an article as a description of a moment, not as a standing statement of what applies today, and should check the date shown on the page before relying on what it says.

This applies to explainers as much as to news. An explainer may describe a framework that has since been amended, replaced, or interpreted differently by the body responsible for it.

Corrections

To report an error, use the contact page. It is useful to include the title or address of the page, the passage you believe is wrong, and what you understand the correct position to be — ideally with a reference to the source you are relying on.

Reports about factual errors are the most useful kind of message this site can receive. Disagreement with an interpretation, or a preference for a different emphasis, is also welcome through the same route, though it is handled differently from a plain factual mistake.

Scope of this page
